Alabama, USA: Round Trip USA - Our Alabama adventure We only 'passed through' the state of Alabama, USA as there was nothing on our must see list of places to visit. There are however four National Wildlife Refuges, three National Parks and a number of State Parks in the state of Alabama. Left Florida - Entered the state of Alabama (Home of the 12th Alabama Cavalry and 17th Alabama Infantry) on I-10, the roughest interstate there is? Drove west up the coast to the next `Coast to Coast` at Styx River Resort, 25301 Waterworld Road , Robertsdale , AL 36567 - just over the border from Pensacola, Florida and north of Gulf Shores. We seemed to have some problem or other with the battery charging system on the motorhome – Graham had a fiddle with something and it worked again.
Set off just after 9.30am. Stopped in a scenic rest area on route for lunch. Before we knew it we were leaving the state of Alabama and entering Mississippi.
