Georgia Round Trip USA We only 'passed through' the state of Georgia, USA - as there was nothing on our must see list of places to visit. There are however nine National Wildlife Refuges, nine National Parks and ---- State Parks in the state of Georgia. The State Tourist Office for the state of Georgia, USA is: Georgia Dept of Industry, Trade and Tourism, 285 Peachtree Centre Ave NE, Suite 1100, Marquis Two Tower, Atlanta GA 30303-1232. ~~~~~~~~~~ 27th From South Carolina Moved into Georgia, USA on the Atlantic coast road. Through Savannah to Overnight. 28th Drove through Georgia in a day. Crossed the border into Florida If we had known earlier we might have added Stone Mountain State Park to our route. Stone Mountain State Park lies about 20 miles east of Atlanta where there is a 30 metre by 60 metre relief in the granite rock of Confederate heroes - Jefferson Davies, 'Stonewall' Jackson and Robert E Lee. There is a 'son et luminiere' show on summer evenings around 9pm. Our schedule was really too tight for us to go that far in land though.
