The JourneyPart of the year long trip from Sept ’94 - Sept ’95 through 36 USA States and 2 Canadian Provinces by Jean and Graham Beven in 'Serendipity' their 30 foot Winnebago 'Chieftain'. The Journey was planned to take up a whole year getting in as much of the USA as we felt possible. The journey was planned on the kitchen table with dots on a large scale map of the states. THe route we chose took us south through the winter and north in the summer. We did follow the route more or less and visited more places than we actually planned - mainly as things and places were signposted off our route or we heard of some must see place close to where we were. We costed out the petrol and vehicle servicing requirements and estimated what we would need for running repairs (a figure we grabbed out of thin air!)
