th August 1995 Arrived in Maine. Travelled from Cranberry Lake , New York State. to Rumford, Maine. A long driving day through two scenic states. 351 miles! Overnighted in a Rest Area near Rumford, ME.

st Travelled from Rumford, Maine. to Ellsworth, Maine. Only 143 miles today! Camping at Wal-Mart, Ellsworth , ME.

Picture of coast in Arcadia National Park, Maine.22nd Warm and breezy. Travelled from Ellsworth, ME. on Hwy 3 to Acacia National Park – Also known as Mount Desert Island . Straight to Seawall Campground. ($12 per night) Booked in and went looking for suitable fishing access. To our disappointment there wasn’t any. Certainly nowhere to park our 30’ home. After a late lunch we struggled (that means Jean!) across slippery rocks and fished in the ocean for an hour. We then had an hour sitting in the summerhouse.

rd Set off again looking for good fishing access. We took the scenic route around the island. The most beautiful being the ocean roads. As the is not very big we had time to sit by the ocean and take in the sea breeze and warm sun. In the evening we had a barbie and sat round the campfire. Later we took in a ranger presented slide show in the amphitheatre.

th From Acacia National Park to Rockland, Maine. via Belfast, Maine. More fishing than travelling – caught 9 mackerel (G6 - J3, who's counting?) Camped at Wal-Mart, Rockland, ME.

th Travelled from Rockland, ME. to Scarborough, Maine. On the coast road trying to find more fishing spots. Plenty of fishing spots but parking not good for ‘Dippy’. Time is getting close to going home time. We cant think of much more things to see outside New York City that we want to see. Just taking in the sights, scenery and open spaces.

th Leaving Maine today, heading into New Hampshire . from Scarborough, ME. to Portland, New Hampshire. via Rye Harbour, New Hampshire.
