The State of South Carolina, USAPart of a year long trip from Sept ’94 - Sept ’95 through 36 USA States and 2 Canadian Provinces by Jean and Graham Beven in ‘Serendipity’ their 30 foot Winnebago Chieftain. South Carolina - Round Trip USA. We only 'passed through' the state of South Carolina, USA in 3 days as there was nothing on our must see list of places to visit. There are however five National Wildlife Refuges, five National Parks and ---- State Parks in the state of South Carolina. The State Tourist Office for the state of South Carolina, USA is: South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism - 532 South Perry Street, Montgomery, AL 36104. ~~~~~~~~~~ From North Carolina 25th Overnight at The Oaks at Point South, South Carolina. 26th October 1994 Travelled all day, with lunch on a beach, surf side, Down Hwy 17 towards Brunswick, South Carolina. The exhaust started making a funny noise! Checking it out there was a good sized hole in the drivers side tail pipe – after Graham had tried to fix it – it was worse! Bought new material for lounge area curtains and went looking for a sewing machine. As a consequence we ended up sleeping on K-Mart car park having bought one there! A very quiet night. 27th Continued heading south through forest and farmland. Called in at a roadside ‘muffler shop’ and had a section of tailpipe fashioned to slide over the remaining good section of original tail pipe. They had a really neat machine that flared the pipe to fit perfectly over the old one! A perfect seal without a weld. Moved south into Georgia
