The Greatest Road Trip USA? - Our Round USA Road Tour.

US National Park Service

Part of the year long trip from Sept ’94 - Sept ’95 through 36 USA States and 2 Canadian Provinces by Jean and Graham Beven in 'Serendipity' their 30 foot Winnebago 'Chieftain'.

National Parks: Round Trip USA

Many of the most beautiful areas of the USA fall within the boundaries of the National Parks. Operated by the US Department of the Interior. Some are free to enter but we found the majority charged an entrance fee and the prices varied, usually by the vehicle. Some parks do not allow dogs!

Many of the USA National Parks have Campsites, Visitors Centres, Museums, Exhibits, Picnic areas. Some have Lodges or Hotels. In many there is permitted; Hunting, Fishing, Boating, Hiking, Mountain Climbing, Swimming and more!

You can purchase a pass called an ‘Golden Eagle Pass’ that allows entry into all USA National Parks for your vehicle and occupants - without further payment for entry to the whole of the National Park system, regardless of state boundaries. We bought our Golden Eagle Pass early in our year long trip and we recon now that we must have saved over $300 in entrance charges! We visited over sixty National Parks from Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site Hodgenville , Kentucky to Yosemite National Park the Sierra Nevada , California . (the only Z is Zion National Park Springdale , Utah and we didn’t go there!)

You can purchase a National Parks 'Passport'. This is like a pocket diary with spaces for park service rubber stamp impressions to be made to show the record of your visits. Unfortunately ours got wet and all the impressions were lost

The USA National Parks Service website is Here. You can obtain a National Park System Map and Guide.
